The Sketchbook is where your agent tries ideas before they go on the site: a new direction for the home page, another palette, a different hero. It draws them on boards with your site’s own styles. The site does not change until you say so.
Open it
Click Delta → Sketchbook in the admin bar, on any page of your site. It opens inside the Front panel, on the board you had open last. You can also find it at the top of the panel’s Design tab.
Ask for an idea
Tell the agent what to try, in plain words:
“In the sketchbook, try a darker hero for the home page with a bigger headline.”
“Make a board with two other palettes for the pricing section.”
The agent draws on the board and the Sketchbook updates. Click Refresh to see its latest change. Double-click a text on the board to change the words yourself. Click a part to point the agent at it.
Boards
A board is one sketch with its own HTML and CSS, like a page that is not on the site. Each person has one open board. Everyone with Delta access can see all boards.
Open the board menu (click the board’s name) for:
- New board, Rename and Duplicate.
- Make a draft page: turns the board into a draft page you can edit and publish. Style values that the board is only trying are not copied.
- History: earlier versions of the board. Put one back, and the board as it is now is kept as a version.
- Share link: a secret, read-only link for a client or a colleague. Anyone who has it can see the board, without the panel. The link stops working after 7 days, or when you click Stop sharing.
- Delete: asks first, and gives you Undo after.
The Undo button in the Sketchbook takes back the last change to the board, yours or the agent’s.
Try new styles
A board can try new values for the site’s styles: colours, fonts, spacing. The board shows them; the site does not. A bar at the bottom counts them: “3 style changes on this board · website not updated”.
- Reset board styles drops them.
- Update website styles puts them on the site. Delta asks first, then saves a snapshot. After the update, Undo takes it back. Later, you can restore the snapshot under Delta → Site → Snapshots.
When another plugin owns your design system, such as Automatic.css, Delta cannot write the values there. Ask the agent to apply them in that plugin.
Icon tags on a board draw as they do on a page. An icon whose pack is gone shows as text, with a warning.
For developers
Boards are the post type 21press_delta_board: 1 MB per document, 30 versions kept, colour literals refused (use tokens). Share links last 7 days by default and up to 365 days; they run no scripts, are not indexed and are never cached. The abilities are in the delta-front-panel category: list-sketchbook-boards, create-sketchbook-board, get-board, set-board, patch-board, set-sketchbook (tried values), keep-sketchbook-draft (applies them after a snapshot, asks for confirmation), create-page-from-board, restore-board-version and share-board, among others. An ability that names no board works on the user’s open board.
