Licensing and updates

Activating your license

When you buy Delta you get a license key by email. Activate the theme under Appearance → Themes, and Delta opens its license form (powered by Freemius); enter the key there. Updates activate automatically. Without an active license, every Delta dashboard screen opens the license screen until a key is entered.

Managing your account

Your licenses and invoices live in the Freemius User Dashboard (Freemius is our licensing and payments partner, and your purchase email links there too). From it you can see which sites a license is active on, deactivate a site to free the seat for another, or update billing details.

To move a site, deactivate the license on the old install first, then activate it on the new one. Local and staging copies do not usually count against your site limit.

The Founder’s License is lifetime

Delta is sold as the Founder’s License: a lifetime license, paid once, with updates and support included for life. It never expires and there is nothing to renew. A single-site license is $49 (regular price $99) and an unlimited-sites license is $99 (regular price $199). You can upgrade from single site to unlimited at any time.

Updating Delta

Updates appear in WordPress like any theme update, under Appearance → Themes and on the Dashboard → Updates screen. Delta is pre-1.0, so review the changelog before you update a client site, and update on staging or after a backup. To keep a way back, ask the agent to save a snapshot before you update. You can restore it from Delta → Snapshots.

A theme update never overwrites your templates. When an older site updates, Delta upgrades its stored settings on its own. Your design pack and field maps stay as they were. To take the new seed design system, see Design system; to move older field maps to the new types, see Field maps. If an upgrade step fails, administrators see a notice in wp-admin that starts with Delta migration failed: and gives the reason.

After an update, reload any browser tab that has the Front panel open, so it loads the new panel. If a cache or a CDN serves pages to logged-in users, clear it as well.

Each release’s changes are listed in the changelog.
