Delta 0.3.0: A front panel for working with your agent

Delta 0.3.0 brings a shared working surface to the live site, with element selection, quick text edits and a Sketchbook for design exploration.

A blueprint on a black ground: the number 030 built from rose pixel cells on a drafting grid, with the last cell of the final zero being placed.

Delta is a WordPress theme you build and maintain through an AI agent. Version 0.3.0 adds a front panel on the live website: a place to inspect the page, make quick text changes and explore design ideas with the connected agent.

The front panel gives the person and the agent a shared reference. You can point to something on the site, discuss what should change and inspect the result where it belongs. For a small wording change, you can edit supported text yourself. This follows the way of working described in our visual-feedback article: keep the page and the conversation connected, use selection for precise feedback and make quick wording edits directly.

A shared view of the website

Open the panel from Delta in the admin bar, or with ⌘⇧E. It loads only for signed-in users with Delta access; visitors never load it.

The panel brings together four views: Page, Map, Design and Memory. Page shows the parts that make up the current page. Map shows how pages link. Design brings the site’s design system into view, while Memory makes the project’s recorded context available.

Selection connects the visible element to its stored source. With sharing active, Delta saves the element’s page, relevant HTML and CSS, and whether it belongs to a page, template or Sketchbook board. The connected agent can retrieve that context when you say “this heading” or “the selected element”. You can pause selection sharing at any time.

Direct text editing works independently of the agent. Click supported text and change the wording without sending element context or asking the agent to make the edit. Text generated by WordPress, plugins or dynamic values may be locked. Supported page sections can also be reordered.

Explore in the Sketchbook

The Sketchbook provides boards for trying ideas with the agent. Each board is an HTML document with its CSS, using the site’s design system. It can hold a section, a visual style guide or several alternatives beside each other. The site does not change while you explore.

Boards keep earlier document versions, so you can return to a previous direction. A board can also have a read-only share link, or become a draft WordPress page after passing the page checks. When a board’s style changes are right, Update website styles applies them to the site. Delta takes a snapshot first, so Undo can take the change back.

Other changes in 0.3.0

Plugin integrations use the plugins’ own published interfaces, with supported native abilities available through Delta’s MCP connection. The release also expands field-map support and WooCommerce rendering.

Sites keep their own copy of the seed design system. An explicit seed upgrade can bring it forward while retaining the site’s changes.

Delta can now be translated, and ships in eleven languages besides English.

Two changes need attention when you update. The UI Editor, the chat editor that used to live inside the theme, is removed, and its stored AI keys, model settings and chat sessions are deleted. Delta’s own product and order tools still work but are deprecated: they will be removed in 0.4.0, and agents should use WooCommerce’s own tools instead.

Where to start

After updating to 0.3.0 or later (the current release is 0.3.5), sign in with a user who has Delta access and open the front panel from the Delta admin-bar menu. Open the live site inside your agent’s browser, select an element and explain the change you want. For a quick wording correction, use direct text editing instead.

The panel provides inspection, selection and focused direct edits. Layout and code changes remain part of the agent workflow. The full list of changes is in the 0.3.0 changelog.
