Redirection
A redirect proposed whenever a page's URL moves, and the 404 log read after a rebuild, all through Redirection.
Redirection keeps the site’s redirects, groups and 404 log. The agent lists, creates and changes redirects through Redirection’s own REST API, so its checks and permissions run as they do in its own screen. Nothing touches your server config unless you ask for an Apache or Nginx export.
When a Delta write moves a published URL, by renaming a slug, moving a page under a new parent or changing a content type’s permalink base, Delta tells the agent the old and the new address. The agent proposes the redirect in one line and makes it only when you agree. With Redirection’s URL Monitor on, Redirection makes those redirects itself.
After a rebuild, the 404 log shows which old addresses visitors still request, so the agent can work down the list. Delta can install Redirection. Needs version 5.10 or later.
Abilities this integration exposes
Redirection publishes no abilities of its own, so these are Delta's. Each one runs through Redirection's REST API.
redirection-list-redirects
Lists the site's redirects, with filters for the source, the target, the group and the HTTP code.
redirection-create-redirect
Creates a redirect: a path or a list of paths, the target, the code, a regular expression if you want one.
redirection-update-redirect
Changes a redirect. Send only what changes; the rest stays.
redirection-delete-redirects
Deletes redirects by id. Redirection keeps no trash, so the agent exports first.
redirection-list-groups
Lists Redirection's groups and the module each one writes to.
redirection-create-group
Creates a group to keep related redirects in.
redirection-update-group
Renames a group, moves it to another module, or switches every redirect in it on or off.
redirection-list-404s
Reads the 404 log: the addresses visitors requested that had no page, with a count per address.
redirection-list-log
Reads the log of redirects Redirection served.
redirection-export
Exports the redirects as JSON, CSV, Apache or Nginx rules, or a Netlify-style redirects file.
redirection-get-settings
Reads Redirection's options, including whether the URL Monitor and the 404 log are on.
redirection-update-settings
Switches the URL Monitor on or off for chosen post types. Nothing else changes.
