A placeholder is a {{double-brace}} token that Delta replaces with live data at render time. Write {{title}} in a template and every entry shows its own title. Unknown placeholders fail silently. They render as nothing and never break a page.

Field maps turn custom fields into placeholders of your own. Loops repeat markup over entries with {{#…}} blocks, also in headers and footers. {{include:slug}} embeds one template inside another, and {{contact_form:…}} embeds a form from a supported plugin.
